May cause sterility in men and menopause in women which may be permanent.
Side Effects:
Burns if leaks under skin.
Nausea and vomitting may occur 3-4 hours after treatment and may last up to 12 hours.
Urine may be pink or reddish for 1-2 days after treatment.
White blood cells will decrease 6-13 days after treatment. Will return to
normal 3 weeks after last treatment. At greater risk for infection when counts
are low.
Platelets may decrease 6-13 days after treatment. Will return to normal 3
weeks after last treatment. May bruise or bleed more easily than usual.
Hair loss is common and may begin within a few days or weeks of treatment.
Scalp may feel tender. Hair will grow back once treatment stops.
Sore mouth may occur a few days after treatment. Mouth sores can lead to infection.
Skin may darken in some areas such as hands, elbows and knees.
